I finished piecing together, except for the borders, the garden quilt I've been working on. I screwed up and managed to get two blocks of the same color lined up -- even after I ripped one of the rows apart! Oh well, probably no one but me will notice. It does look pretty nice even with that mistake and without the borders.
Wayne found an old lamp in the garage and an old lamp shade in the cellar. The lamp shade turned out to be one of those that is covered with sticky paper and you attach fabric or paper to it. So I traced a pattern and cut out some cute green fabric and made a lamp shade. It came out really cute but I still need to buy some trim for the top and bottom. I now want to make lots more shades.
It poured tonight so we ate dinner on the porch with the light of my cute new lamp. We had turkey burgers with mushrooms and swiss cheese, coleslaw and grilled corn. This was my first time making turkey burgers and the first time Wayne every ate them. They were quite tasty.

Wayne had finished the powder room so today he hung up the toilet paper holder and the towel rack and took down the ugly soap dish. Kathleen and I went to Target and spent a lot of money. I got, along with a bunch of stuff for Kathleen's room, a soap dispenser, a trash container and a hand towel for the powder room. I spent most of the day cleaning up the family room. It looks pretty good now. I still have to clean off the couch and the small chest next to the couch but it really looks like I made progress. For dinner we had grilled trout with Irish butter sauce, grilled asparagus and the ratatouille I had made yesterday.

Today Tucker and I went to the Somerset County 4-H fair. We watched Kathleen judge the preps and then Kathleen took Tucker and I explored the 4-H grounds.
I had a steak sandwich and onion rings (well, I ordered French fries from the steak sandwich place but they were so bad I couldn't eat them so I went to another place and got the onion rings). Later I saw one stall had hummus and pita and another one had falafal which would have been better for me. While I was eating I notice a couple of boys around
11 or 12 eating their lunch with chopsticks. I took a picture but it didn't come out as cute as I'd hoped. By the time I got back to the dog tent Tucker was ready to go home.
Megan was home when I got there. She had just taken her final waitressing test and needed to order black dickie pants and non-slip shoes. She did order the pants but couldn't find shoes she liked online. So...she took my debit card and went shopping. $107.36 later she still didn't have any shoes.I made Ratatouille Nicoise today. My first time making that dish. It turned out quite good, but I think next time I won't cut the vegetables quite so small.
We had severe thunderstorms from around 2:30 to around 5:00. It got sunny for awhile and then poured again until around 7:00.
Wayne called from the road on his way home from Baltimore and suggested that I meet him at Chimney Rock for pizza. We had bruschetta (way too much and not that good) and a margurita pizza with half sausage. I ate the half without the sausage.
