Breakfast meeting

This morning my team went for breakfast at a diner near work -- The Spinning Wheel diner. I had 2 eggs over easy, greasy under-cooked bacon, home fries and 2 pieces of wheat toast with what was probably fake butter (margarine). Oh, and fresh fruit which was actually good. I ate the fruit, the eggs and the toast and picked off some of the more cooked portions of the bacon and skipped the potatoes. But it was lots of fun having breakfast with my work associates and quite relaxing. Next time, though, I think I'm going for the French toast.

food for thought

I had a huge carrot muffin for breakfast. Although I didn't eat all of it, I did eat quite a chunk. Now I feel overly full and tired. I need to go back to having a banana for breakfast.

Lunch was a half scoop of chicken salad, part of a bag of Stacy's Naked Pita chips and a small cup of tomato soup.

Mid-afternoon snack was a banana and left-over crustless quiche.

After work snack was a couple handfuls of mixed nuts.

Dinner:
Barbecue chicken with cheddar cheese, red peppers and bacon
 Coleslaw
 Potato salad

After dinner snacks:
 mixed nuts
 olives
 cheddar cheese
two slices of swiss cheese with lettuce and garlic aloli
 more olives

Wine

Yikes! I am totally out of control. I think I'm lucky I'm not GAINING weight.

Strategies

I've decided that maybe keeping a list of all the food I eat everyday will help with losing weight (duh!). The losing part isn't going too well. So, I've eaten so far today: a banana and a whole wheat wrap with chicken breast, 2 pieces of American cheese, lettuce and pesto mayo. I'm actually quite full now.

Once I got home from work I had (over the course of the evening, not all at once):

a handful of nuts
a few olives
another handful of nuts
fresh mozzarella and tomatoes with pesto
grouper wrapped in prosciutto sautéed in butter, oil and garlic
roasted asparagus
a handful of nuts
4 pieces of cheese
a scattering of nuts
wine

Write Time, Write Place

a summer journal

I'm taking a journaling class from Paper Bella Studios and our first assignment is to write down our expectations for this class and what we hope to get out of it.

The main reason I took this class is because I really want to work more in my journal and I'm hoping that getting assignments several times a week will help.

I would also like to challenge myself to learn new techniques for art journaling as I tend to stick to the tried and true rather than venturing out into new territory.

Sunday:

Read the papers.
Wayne went to help Megan move into her new appt.
Wayne, Megan, Mike and I went to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch. I had the turkey burger with bacon and avocado. It was really good but filling. I only ate half of it.
Worked on designing the Maine trip. It's harder than I thought it would be.
Dinner was grilled shrimp, salad and Wasabi mayo.
I didn't too well on the taking pictures side of things.
Watched Iron Chef America and the Next Network Food Star.
Cheese course for dessert because I'm crazy.

Life and the Art of Dieting

Or, why I can't lose weight. I like to eat. I LOVE to eat. Last night Wayne, Megan and I went to Bonefish Grill for dinner. We had the yummy, but not very diet friendly, dish Bang Bang shrimp. For dinner I had the Ahi Tuna Sashimi, which I guess isn't too bad caloric wise. Megan had the Dorado fish special which I thought was over cooked. Wayne had the filet with shrimp scampi.
I was slightly better at lunch. I had leftover Thai shrimp curry with rice.
Even after all that eating I was down .02 pounds at the end of the evening.
Interestingly enough the capitalization seems to have gotten lost.

Making backward progress

"If you want a place in the sun, you've got to put up with a few blisters."
– Abigail Van Buren

Horoscope: It all starts with a kind word or a generous act -- and you'll know just how to keep things going from there. Something big is on the horizon.

What my name means:

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.
People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

I pretty much suck at dieting, not to mention life in general. I have gained 2.2 pounds as of this morning.

For lunch salad with fried nacho chips (real good diet food). For dinner Pad See Ew. Another diet friendly food. Not mention lots of noodles. It was good but I couldn't fall asleep. Not sure if they put MSG or it was just too much food. I am coming to the conclusion that I am a foodaholic.
